Quality fresh food, chef prepared. Enjoyed chicken fried chicken with potatoes and leeks, plus a side of green beans. Nice Salad bar and a bowl of beans included. Reasonable price.

Stopped in here to visit where a scene from the Tree of Life was filmed. It was cool to sit where Brad Pitt sat with his kids in the film. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the experience.

I was here a few nights ago for my friends proposal dinner I had the chicken cordon bleu which was baked to perfection with seasonal vegetables and crispy potatoes excellent we also had a couple crafts of sangria which were a little on the sweet side but if that's your thing go for it but they also have lots of beers some on tap recommendation 10.

While staying at the Katy House B&B in Smithville, Tx (excellent) we stopped in here for lunch. The food is as good as it looks in the pictures! Fresh green beans, sautéed cod, rosemary potatoes and fruit. Pinto beans and a lovely, fresh salad while waiting for our order. We shared a piece of their amazing Bone Spirits Bourbon and Chocolate pie made by the owner and if you love chocolate, 💕💕 Definitely should try it if you are staying in Smithville or just passing through. Super friendly folks!

We were looking for a quick bite to eat on the way to Big Bend National Park (this is a long way from there, but we were headed down I-10). We drove by the place originally, since there was no sign, but made a quick turn around and stopped at the only place we saw that looked like a business. We asked the staff inside the store and they pointed us to the door in back. There is an actual back door to the place, hence the name and also the entrance most people used. This is what you might term a “hole in the wall”, but we loved the food and staff. Now, realize, this is not going to be salads and hummus...this is meat, fried potatoes and onion rings, and sweet tea and there ain’t nothing wrong with those things. The server was beyond great and helped us to some good ole’ Texas hospitality. They have a special every Saturday of the month, so you should definitely check this place out.

Spinach artichoke dip is amazing!!! Along with everything on the menu. 🙂👍

A true chef runs this bright spot. Menu changes from day to day and depends upon what he can get fresh each morning.

Wonderful family owned restaurant. Their sourdough pizza crust is made from barley from the shiner brewery. All other pizza is a disappointment now. The pork tacos might be my favorite though with a glass of house made sangria. Also can't go without a salad with their house made tomato basil vinaigrette. YUM!
